Strokes and brain injuries often affect one’s speaking, listening, reading, and/or writing ability. This is called “aphasia”.
Common symptoms include:
Word-finding difficulty
Using one word or short phrases rather than a sentence
Saying the wrong word
Making up words or using jargon
Difficulty following conversation/answering questions
Needing more time to respond
Difficulty answering yes/no questions
